Murdoch University’s Team Falcon – Vrushabh Chotalia and Huzaifa Hameed took part in the recent Startup Weekend, which is a 54 hour event hosted by #Sheraa. The idea is that a group of students launch a business in 54 hours with full support from industry experts and mentors to help bring ideas to reality. Fifteen teams made it to the final day where they had to pitch their business plan in front of the judging panel, which included the CEO of Sheraa and the members of the #KhalifaFund. Team Falcon pitched their great strategy for eliminating barriers of short distance travel and increasing connectivity between people. Their solution is to set up a network of e-scooters regulated by virtual parking spots. This brilliant and innovative plan won first prize of 25k to launch their pilot project, and has been enrolled in the Sheraa pre-seed stage where they will be given three months of free business consultation from industry experts and will be eligible for further funding. Team Falcon will also be provided with a co-working space to work together and execute their project.
Team Falcon are extremely grateful to Sheraa for supporting them and empowering students to voice out their ideas and turn them to reality.
