Dubai had the pleasure of hosting the latest exhibition from Akram Dost recently. The award-winning artist’s collection, themed “Identity” took place at Studio 7’s fabulous gallery in Dubai’s Business Bay.
Dost’s themes are those of human rights and the search for identity. He says, “To some extent I have tried to portray my culture and tradition whether it be the embroidery or the appearances, and this is my attempt to chronicle human experience in an age in which apathy, detachment, and spiritual absence have the potential to mute our best insights. My recent body of work aims to express social, political and economic anxieties prevalent in our society.”
