The Dubai Muscle Show came into town and opened its doors today (Oct 28, 2021), and proved it’s not only the body builders who get bigger and better with each passing year. It’s been a while since we last saw the DMS hit the city, and I thought it would have to go some to better 2019’s exhibition, and that’s exactly what it did. Thanks to the organisers and press office at Plus1Comms, Dubai Active, and Dubai Active Industry, and in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council and held at Dubai’s gigantic World Trade Centre, more than 600 athletes came to town in support of their businesses and respective sports. There’s so much to see too; there are more than 300 stalls and businesses, and each geared to making us eat, sleep, breathe, rest and work better. Not only that, while the body gets fitter, you should also focus on the mind: there are booths with phsychologists, counsellors and mental health well-being experts who can advise on mental strength and conditioning the way we think.
There are competitions in both male and female categories, and plenty of contenders for the Dubai Muscle Classic, and as DMS has partnered with #IFBB Pro Elite, there is more than 75k (AED) in prize money, nutrition, clothing and sponsorship to be won. Mr Universe, Regan Grimes will also be there, along with former IFBB Champion, Dennis James, as well as a host of other superstars, who are all willing to offer words of advice or encouragement, and have their photos taken with you.
The inaugural women’s section is packed with great competition too, with 25,000 (AED) of cash and goods prizes up for grabs for the top 3, in addition to a photo shoot with one of the world’s best fitness photographers, and goody bags from clothing brand L’Couture. Women’s categories are: Bikini Fitness, Sports Model, Wellness Figure, Ms Figure International, Life Body Transformation. The men’s section is as follows: Bodybuilding – 3 Elite Pro Cards, Men’s Physique – 2 Elite Pro Cards, Classic Physique – 2 Elite Pro Cards, Classic Bodybuilding – 2 Elite Pro Cards, Muscular Men’s Physique – 1 Elite Pro Card, Bikini – 2 Elite Pro Cards, Wellness – 1 Elite Pro Card, Bodyfitness – 1 Elite Pro Card, Master Bodybuilding – 2 Elite Pro Cards, Master’s Physique, Master Bikini – 1 Elite Pro Card, Master Bodyfitness – 1 Elite Pro Card, Junior Bodybuilding, Junior Men’s Physique, Junior Classic Physique.
There are a bundle of workshops you can try too, most notable from Holly Baxter and Layne Norton, and there’s Team Nogueira Future Champions with some of the best MMA, boxing and Muay Thai scrappers in the Middle East. As if that’s not enough, also appearing are Big Ramy, Ronnie Coleman, Dorian Yates (pictured right), Flex Lewis, William Bonac and Ulisses Jr. Then there’s Kevin Levrone, Dennis James, Larry wheels, Tony Huge, Regan Grimes, Jon De La Rosa and Victor Martinez, and representing the fairer sex are fitness models, Carmen and Michelle Bieri, IFBB Pro Wellness Champion, Yarishna Ayala, fitness model, Eva Andressa, Bang Energy athlete, Ariana Blanchard, and tons of others too.
